We offer elementary children a wide range of worship, study, social, and service opportunities to encourage growth in their relationships with Jesus Christ and with each other. We also offer activities and events that give families opportunities to experience their faith together.

Our Sunday School teachers have been trained and equipped to teach your children curriculum that has been evaluated and approved by the Christian Education Council and by the Session each year. We are excited about our new Sunday School curriculum this year, Crossings for Kids by LOGOS.

Education Opportunities

Worship Education

Worship Education is a unique program for first and second graders to thoroughly study all aspects of church worship. Sacrament Education is held in January as a part of this class. First Communion Worship in January is an element of Worship Education.

Parent Education

In addition to Educational Forums, which are held annually for parents of elementary children, Parent Education is offered regularly for parents of infants through adolescents. There are several weekly Sunday school classes whose membership is mostly parents of children.

Agora:  most members are parents of preschool and elementary aged children.
Covenant Class: most members are parents of elementary - college aged children.
First Foundations:  most members are parents of preschool aged children.
Forum @ First: a mix of couples and singles, often new members and visitors.
Ours For Today: most members are parents of preschool - high school aged children.
The Upper Room: most members are parents of preschool and elementary aged children.

LOGOS - Wednesday Night Program

LOGOS is a mid-week four-part program composed of Dinner, Music, Bible Study, and Recreation. All aspects are designed for Elementary children and revolve around developing loving, Christian relationships. LOGOS runs from 5 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights.

Elementary Musical

Every spring, the Elementary children join together in putting on a phenomenal Musical. This is incorporated into the LOGOS program and takes the place of Recreation and Bible Study. Allison Per-Lee and the youth group help to direct and lead this performance!

Mission, Fellowship & Fun

Elementary Children participate in several mission trips throughout the year, including trips to Passportkids and the Craddock Center. Additionally, a Family Mission Trip is held for families with children age 10 or older.

We also participate in church-wide service opportunities whenever possible. Favorites are our annual Canned Food Drive competition, MLK Jr. Service Day in the community, and work with our own Homeless Breakfast and Women's Shelter.

Every month we gather for bowling, pool parties, rock climbing, and more! And, annually, we have the opportunity for family and older-elementary retreats.

Vacation Bible School is another favorite tradition at FPC. First and Second graders participate in an enhanced version of the VBS curriculum and participate in community outreach activities on campus while the Third-Fifth graders take service field trips every day. We cap off the week with a great pool party!
