Illiness/Hospitalization

Hospital and Home Visits

If you or a loved one is hospitalized or recuperating at home from an illness, your pastors are available for visits. You can be included in regularly scheduled visits to homebound members and those in nursing homes. We provide home communions for those unable to attend worship services, with particular emphasis given during Advent and Lent. Please call our Care office assistant, Pat Kimbrell, 404-228-7719 to schedule a visit from Dr. Trisha Senterfitt, Rev. Chris Moore-Keish, or one of our other pastoral staff.

Flower Ministry

Each Sunday the flowers from the worship services are divided into smaller arrangements by the Flower Guild Volunteers. The Pastoral Care Office then sends fellow church member volunteers to deliver the flowers to members of the church that we know to be recently hospitalized or homebound. Call our office at 404-228-7719 if you would like to include someone you know needs cheering.

Healing Services

Healing Services are held three times each year on Wednesday evenings, or upon request.  In this meditative service of song, prayer and silence, we seek to open our lives go God’s Spirit through repeated singing and reading of Psalms and prayers in unison.  This is followed by anointing and praying for healing with laying on of hands, prayers of thanksgiving and a blessing.  Call our Care office at 404-228-7719 for dates or to request a special service.

Cancer Support Group

This group, led by Rev. Mary Hay and Nancy Kirwan, Ph.D., prays and shares concerns together, offering strength and courage for the journey. Meetings are every Thursday from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. in the Group Counseling Room of the Pastoral Care Offices, Room B320. Call Pat Kimbrell in the Pastoral Care Office for reservations at 404-228-7719.
