About
|
At First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, we minister to each other, as members, and we reach out to the entire community. We believe, as the Bible says in Galatians 6:2, that we are to "bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ." Members of all ages minister to the poor, support the weak, aid the afflicted, and work to help reduce violence in our city. We also offer a comprehensive program of care, counseling, and support for its members and the community. Our aim is to show the love of Jesus Christ and the comfort and hope of the Holy Spirit in daily living and in times of crisis in personal and communal life. The Hal and John Smith Family Christian Community Center, was dedicated in May 2000. This four-story, 29,000 square foot addition to the church building is testimony to our commitment to live as Christian disciples. The center houses several of the church's on-site programs in community ministry and serves as a coordinating point for other programs in which we are involved as partners with congregations of many faiths throughout the city. Our pastoral care offices and counseling center are also located in the Christian Community Center.
