Juticalpa, where the mission group spent their first night, is about 30 km southwest of the town of Catacamas. Olancho is a large departamento (province) of Honduras. Mayan ruins are in Copán.
Nicaragua is to the southeast, El Salvador is to the southwest, and Guatemala is to the west.
The group arrived in the capital, Tegucigalpa, which is at the bottom left. Juticalpa, where they spent their first night, is about 70 miles northeast of Tegucigalpa.
The San Esteban Valley and the small town of Ocotal are over the Agalta Mountains, several hours by rough roads northwest of Juticalpa.

So far, it's been similar to Atlanta's recent daytime hot and humid temperatures, though the Juticalpa nights are warmer.
