Nursery/Preschool Programs

The Cherubs and Angels will be using the new “Bible Quest” and the Rainbows, Butterflies and Stars will be using the new “Covenant People.” Both programs emphasize teaching the overall story of the Bible. These new curricula were developed through churchwide input involving an assembly of Presbyterians and church resources and are the official curriculum for the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Weekday Preschool

Click here to access the Weekday Preschool website.

The Weekday Preschool was established in 1946 and is one of the first early childhood education programs in the state of Georgia. The preschool serves not only our church, but also the local and international communities. Both children and staff come from these communities.

Laurie Campbell is the Weekday Preschool Director. She holds a Master's degree in Child Development and has experience as both a teacher and administrator. For more information, or to inquire about enrollment, please call 404-228-7722 (weekday preschool office) or email lcampbell@firstpresatl.org

We spend much of our class time in small group and individualized teaching so that children progress at their own individual speed. Physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth are important in developing the whole child. Chapel is held every month.

Our youngest class, Mothers' Morning Out, is offered to children 8 months old by September 1. Our oldest class, Fours/Pre-K, is composed of children who are four by September 1 and for young five year olds.

We hold an annual auction and appeal to help raise funds to invest in equipment and material which are shared with the Sunday School.
