Easter ‘Fill-A-Bag’ Donation Drive

National Volunteer Week, April 19th - 26th

Community Ministries is excited to celebrate National Volunteer Week, April 19–25! The week will begin with a celebratory volunteer fellowship hour and continue with fun surprises throughout the week as we honor our fantastic volunteers.

Host a Donation Drive

Interested in playing an integral role in Community Ministries but don’t have time to volunteer regularly? Host a donation drive! Your community group or workplace could play a vital role in helping our neighbors here in Midtown by hosting a drive for our Clothing Corner or Food Market.

Community Ministries already has a guide and promotional materials ready to go. Simply email Jacob at jivey@firstpresatl.org for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities

Spotlight:

Computer Lab

  • The Computer Lab is a great volunteer opportunity for anyone who enjoys connecting with people one-on-one and helping with tasks ranging from building résumés to logging into Facebook. No advanced technical skills are required.

  • Shifts: Mondays through Thursdays 1:00–3:00 p.m.

Food Market

  •  Since its opening in September, Community Ministries is thrilled to invite the entire congregation to volunteer in the newly renovated Venable Food Market! Volunteers in the Food Market assist with sorting and stocking shelves, helping our neighbors select groceries, and bagging items for our neighbors.

  • Shifts: Tuesdays 1:00pm-3:30pm, 3:30pm - 6:00pm

Foot-care

  • Foot-care services offered by Community Ministries are some of the most cherished services we offer. This essential service supports our neighbors, many of whom rely on walking as their primary mode of transportation. Our Foot Care volunteers provide non-clinical care, helping to keep our neighbors' feet clean, healthy, and comfortable.

  • Shifts: Every other Wednesday 4:00pm - 6:00pm

Hygiene Closet

  • Community Ministries ensures that our neighbors have the necessary items for proper hygiene as part of our diverse services. Volunteers have the opportunity to brighten someone's day by participating in the hygiene closet, distributing hygiene items, and creating “hygiene kits” to be given out to our neighbors as needed throughout the week.

  • Shifts: Every other Monday & Thursdays 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Interested in any of the above Volunteer opportunities? Email Jacob at jivey@firstpresatl.org!
