What We Miss About Church: Congregant Reflections

For our devotionals this month, we asked various congregants what they miss the most about being together. Join us for this series of reflections that remind us of what we miss and who we are called to be.

Scripture for the Day
Hebrews 10:24-25

And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

No surprise - being more of an extrovert, I derive my energy from being in the presence of others. Don't get me wrong, I like quiet time as evidenced by my early morning wake-ups and runs, and since we have been sequestered due to the pandemic, I have been blessed to have more of those mornings since my business travel has ceased. A hidden blessing - technology! Being able to experience worship on Sunday morning via the video stream and join my men's group (Ours for Today) via Zoom has provided some solace. Yet, some of the experiences are not as impactful as face-to-face / physical presents (SIC) of others.

No surprise with that as a backdrop - I like today's passage since it encourages us to keep making lemonade from the lemons and look forward to the future for WHEN we will be together again - the Day! Until then, keep leaning in on your faith, one another, Facetime and Zoom. Peace!
