Psalm for the Day: Psalm 81:6-10
“Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.”
The psalm for today reminds the reader how God has been faithful to the people. And it's God’s historic faithfulness that invites them to trust God for what they need in the present moment and into the future. God shouldered the burden. God liberated them. God heard their cry of distress and rescued them.
God has been God for the people in the past, and so God is trustworthy into the future. We can trust that if we are hungry and we open our mouths, God will fill us…God will give us what we need.
Today, journal about how God has been faithful to you in the past. Also, note where you are “hungry”. What are you longing for God to satisfy? Make that known to God.
