Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry provides one-to-one Christian care for people experiencing difficult seasons of life, including grief, illness, divorce, job loss, relocation, loneliness, or other significant changes and challenges.

Stephen Ministers are trained members of the congregation who are paired with individuals who could benefit from ongoing care and support. Through regular, confidential conversations, they listen, encourage, pray, and offer a caring Christian presence. Stephen Ministers do not serve as counselors or try to solve problems; instead, they walk alongside people, offering compassionate support as they navigate whatever they are facing.

At FPC, Stephen Ministry is part of the Care Council and extends the church’s ministry of care beyond pastors and staff. Through these one-to-one relationships, members of the congregation help ensure that people facing difficult circumstances do not have to face them alone.
